Agua Ramon - Pool Table - Rat Creek - Bachelor

Sonya and Vivian started the day with a horseback ride with the folks at Cottonwood Cove near Wagon Wheel Gap on Hwy 149. They only went for an hour but had a great time. Vivian still loves horses! This was the only picture they got :-(
After horseback riding, we decided to take a nice backcountry tour. We started our ride with a trip up to the top of Agua Ramon mountain. We had a little picnic there with an eastern view to the Great Sand Dunes and the surrounding mountains, all over 70 miles away!

After the picnic we continued northward toward Pool Table Park. This was a nice drive in the high country. We saw mushrooms, deer, grouse, and beautiful vistas. We also had to decide how to deal with a big mud puddle!

We came down from Pool Table and made our way through Creede and up Bachelor Road to Rat Creek and back down. I can't wait to complete the 4x4 Rat Creek run up to San Luis Peak! That will have to wait until next year...
Look at Johnathan's pants. After we were sure he wasn't hurt, we laughed pretty hard!
