Del Norte Peak and Jasper "Jeep" Trip

We had a wonderful trip today. We started out going south from Hwy 160 onto Beaver Creek Road. The locals call it Rickle's Barn Road.
Got a couple of nice shots toward South Fork.
We followed Road 329 up and twisting around Del Norte Peak.
The desert wildflowers up here make great subjects...
We had a picnic lunch near the intersection of 329 and 14 in a beautiful grove of aspens.
We then made our way to Fuchs Reservoir. This was a nice place to take a walk and get some nice pics. After Fuchs Reservoir, we went over Blowout Pass.
This little guy was so cool! - - - - - - - - - Columbine: Colorado's State Flower!
Blowout Pass was really a 4WD road, but the 2WD Durango made an impressive showing. (Of course, we did have to stop a few times to let the brakes cool down on the back side...)

Down, down, down toward the the tiny village of Jasper. This picture was taken on the way...
These flowers were gorgeous in person...
I've heard of a rock face before, but this is ridiculous! :-)
