Creede, Bachelor, and the Continental Divide...

Our first sightseeing trip was an unexpected treat. After going to Creede and visiting the Rare Things shops, we decided to have a picnic lunch up near the old Bachelor ghost town. Well...we ended up eating our lunch way north of Bachelor, just south of Equity Mine. We found a really nice shady location and enjoyed just sitting around eating and talking in God's beautiful mountains.

After the picnic, we continued north past Equity Mine and up, up, up to the Continental Divide. WOW!! What a view!! It felt like we were on top of the world up there. We were probably pretty close to 12,000 ft. elevation. We could see beyond Del Norte Peak to the south, probably into New Mexico. We could see the Slumgullion earth flow and Uncompagre range to the west. La Garita and other mountain ranges were visible to the north, and San Louis Peak was just to our east rising to over 14,000 ft.
